Super September Giveaway!

SUper september Giveaway!

I hit over 50 subscribers to my blog in the beginning of September and like I tweeted out, I will be doing my first ever giveaway! I am only able to ship to the U.S. and Canada and I want to apologize to all the international folks. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to ship internationally. I hope for future giveaways, I am able to do so. The giveaway runs from now until the end of September and I will draw one lucky winner in the beginning of October!

Here is what will be in the Super September Giveaway:

This was one of the first cards game I ever bought! I was first attracted tot he game because of the theme: Sushi. When I was growing up, sushi and other Japanese food were staples in my life. However, I never saw Japanese food featured in media and never in games. Although Sushi Go! does not have a Japanese designer, I think the theme is done in good taste and I am so happy to have a game in my collection that showcases my culture – even if it is food. In the game, players are selecting cards from their hand and then passing there hand to their opponent. Players repeat this process with the goal of creating the best sushi (and other foods – dumplings, tempura, wasabi) platter! A simple and fun game with fantastic artwork! Check out my review of the game.

A fantastic book I had the wonderful opportunity to red and review preceding the release in the United Kingdom as What Sunny Saw in the Flames. My experience reading the book was full of fun and engagement – a book I wish I had as a young reader. The story follows Sunny, an albino Nigerian who grew up in the United States and moved back to Nigeria when older. Sunny finds out she is a Leopard person and enters a world full of magic, juju, and adventures! I would recommend this book without hesitation to anyone, but particularly to those looking for diverse YA. Nnedi Okorafor dives into conversations on race, gender, and ability while creating an in-depth and interesting world. Check out my review of the book.

  5. I’m in. I’ve played Sushi Go and enjoy it, but I know nothing about Akata Witch. My wife is a librarian, and she says she’s heard god things about it, so there you go. Thanks!
