I’ve been thinking about it for a while myself. I read this article (http://everydayfeminism.com/2017/08/light-skinned-poc-spaces/) a week ago, and was at first rather upset about it, but then I realised that it does make sense in my case. I do not face discrimination due to colorism as much, since my skin is lighter than that of most people from South Asia. I also received many privileges due to my father being white. However, I also experience the not belonging to anywhere.

I think however that many POC experience privileges that other POC do not have, and thus we always have to be aware of the privileges we have.

I know that for black people, the lighter you are, the more benefits you get/the easier it can be to move in society. An Indian friend of mine has mentioned that is true for her as well.

Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for writing such an honest and thought provoking post. I like how you shared the difficulties as well as the good memories such as your dad helping you in getting an internship
