First off, what a fantastic title for a rec / list blog post! There has been a lot of controversies in the book / publishing world this month. From booktubers to authors saying there is no need for diversity and that calling out token / stereotypical attempts is ridiculous. And marginalized authors getting hate from trolls non-stop. We also had the VOYA issue during Bisexual Awareness Week. Not to mention the countless of other incidents that were not reported or did not hit Twitter. Well, here is a fantastic post with a handful of lists featuring diverse books. Enjoy and bask in the liberation of #ownvoices!

Thank you so much for this rant! As a relatively new book blogger (Okay, I have been blogging for about 18 months but I became serious about it in August of this year), I have felt pretty intimidated with asking for ARCs or demo copies of games to review. I appreciated the sentiment here about being confident in asking for ARCs and I have definitely taken the leap on NetGalley, to publishers, and sometimes to authors or designers. I get a mixed response but I have had the privilege of receiving ARCs and demo games on occasion. I feel validated when I do receive them and I work hard to read/play and review whatever I get. Thank you for a post that still resonates with me!

That’s a fact.” That is a great summary of what the post is trying to convey: We need diversity in YA fiction despite what the majority is saying.
